Md. Matiur Rahman Sheikh
Member Directing Staff (Administration and Finance)

Md. Matiur Rahman Sheikh is a native of Gazipur and has lived & studied in many places of Bangladesh. He graduated from Bangladesh Agricultural University. In 1991, he joined Bangladesh Police as a BCS cadre officer.

Following basic course, he was assigned to many operational units. During his professional endeavor, Mr. Sheikh worked as Superintendent of Police in various districts. Besides, Mr. Sheikh served as UN peacekeeper in East Timor and Liberia.

Mr. Sheikh has spent 8 years of his career in PSC as a contributor to training, research & development activities. He has been a self-enthusiastic worker in many national & international activities of PSC. 

Mr. Matiur studied business and received MBA degree. With encouragement and passion he again studied Criminology in Dhaka University and obtained Masters Degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice. Mr. Sheikh received wide range of training at home and limited number of training at overseas. He is a firm believer in giving back professional knowledge and particularly passionate about training and learning. His professional interests focus on thematic planning, applied research and evaluation of pragmatic training activities of PSC. 

He has recently been honored with IGP’s exemplary good services badge for his contribution to research and publication. 

Apart from the above, he has kept a keen interest in crime and criminology, enjoying reading books and most importantly spending time with skill development.   

Mr. Sheikh is married and blessed with one daughter and a son.
