Signing of MoU between Police Staff College and United International University to work jointly on various academic and institutional research collaborations

On December 26, 2023, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Police Staff College Bangladesh and United International University took place at the UIU campus. The MoU outlines collaborative efforts in various academic and research endeavors between the two institutions. The agreement encompasses higher education, training, research, seminars, workshops, and the exchange of faculty members. 

During the event, Dr. Mallick Faqrul Islam, BPM, PPM, Rector of the Police Staff College, and Professor Dr. Md. Abul Kashem Mia, Vice-Chancellor of UIU, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions. Representatives from UIU included Professor Emeritus Dr. M. Rezwan Khan; Mr. Md. Abdul Moqaddem, Treasurer; Dr. Md. Zulfiqur Rahman, Registrar; and from PSC Mr. Md. Rezaul Haq, PPM Vice-Rector; Mr. Md. Matiur Rahman Sheikh, MDS (Admin & Finance); Mr. Md. Golam Rasul, MDS (Academic & Research); Mr. Mohammad Jahangir Hossain, MDS (Training); and Mr. Sufian Ahmed, Director (Academic) were present.

During the program, Dr. Mallick Faqrul Islam, BPM, PPM, Rector, expressed that the collaboration between professionals and academicians from both institutions would benefit from education, training, and research initiatives. He highlighted the potentials for curriculum development, preparation of research proposals, and joint efforts in contemporary crime and law enforcement activities. Dr. Mallick Faqrul Islam BPM, PPM emphasized that the partnership aligns with Vision 2041, presenting an opportunity to advance smart policing activities in line with the government's vision of building a Smart Bangladesh. He further stated that the excellence in academics, research, and education would contribute to establishing the Police Staff College's reputation as one of the premier police training institutes in the Asia and beyond. Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Kashem Mia, the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of UIU, commented that the MoU would open new horizons for cooperation between the two institutions. He expressed sincere gratitude to all individuals involved in initiating this collaboration, especially acknowledging the efforts of the Rector of PSC.
