Md. Sohel Rana
Director (Project and Development)

A Superintendent of Bangladesh Police, Md. Sohel Rana, through with 24 BCS, has joined Police Staff College Bangladesh on 02 February 2023. Primarily with a Masters in English Literature from the University of Dhaka, he has ventured for his second Masters in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the same alma mater. He is a Chevening Scholar of the Govt. of the United Kingdom. He achieved a Masters in Human Rights from the University of Sussex, UK. During his tour of service, he has widened his professional horizons serving in the capacity of AIG Media & Public Relations and AIG Training at the Police Headquarters. He has worked as a Deputty Commissioner in Chattogram Metropolitan Police. His profile also reads him as the Chief Protocol Officer to two consecutive IGPs, the National Contact Officer of NCB (Interpol)-Dhaka, an Additional Superintendent of Police (Media & Public Relations, PHQ), an Additional Superintendent of Police (Operations, PHQ) and an Asst. Superintendent of Police (UN Affairs, PHQ). A feather to count for UN Peacekeeping Missions, he has served in UNAMID (Darfur) as an UNPOL Training Officer and in UNMISS (South Sudan) as an FPU Coordinator (Admin & Personnel) at the Mission Headquarters (UNPOL). Room to Read, a US-based organization, has brought out his first book titled The Story of a Crow and a Cuckoo. He has published two crime fiction books titled Bio-Data and Shoe Print from Suchipatra Prokashoni. A book of poems titled Monoscription was published by Suvro Prokash. He has travelled widely home and abroad including the UK, France, Switzerland, Italy, Vatican City, Germany, Austria, Luxembourg, Belgium, Turkey, Greece, China, Hongkong, India, Kenya and Uganda.
