Dr. A K M Iqbal Hossain is a highly accomplished law enforcement professional, academic and researcher currently serving at Police Staff College, Bangladesh. He joined at this esteemed institution on 27 October 2024. With a diverse background in policing, human resource management (HRM) and extensive research in the field of modern policing strategies, organizational restructuring, leadership development, and HRM best practices he has excelled himself as the most talented members of Bangladesh Police. He can boast of his academic background. He obtained first class master’s degree from Jahangirnagar University in Government and Politics and did another Master’s in human resource management (HRM) from the University of Dhaka, with an outstanding score having CGPA 3.99 (Out of 4). He belongs to 20th batch of BCS and has so far served under Bangladesh Police in different capacities. He attended specialized training on money laundering conducted by Virginia State University, USA. He also served under United Nations peace keeping mission in Ivory Coast (UNOCI) over the period from 2006 to 2007. He was awarded Ph. D degree from Jahangirnagar University for his intensive field research-based thesis on “Reforms in Bangladesh Police Administration: Issues and Challenges.” Eventually he could make valuable inputs in the current police reform commission. His areas of interest are police reform, police policy planning, human resource management (HRM), police management, research methods, organizational behavior and public policy analysis. A good number of his articles have already been published in different professional journals of nationally internationally repute. He is now serving as Member Directing staff (Academic) of this college. In addition to his academic responsibility at this college, he is planning to conduct a macro study on the affairs of ‘Thana’ in ensuring law and order within the country.
